SOMANA Holds Seventh Meeting to Strengthen Maritime Management in Ecuador

The Ecuadorian Navy held the Seventh Ordinary Meeting of SOMANA with the participation of the Port Authority of Guayaquil (APG) and the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (INOCAR). Maritime and port strategies, modernization of maritime transport, navigation safety, and the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) were addressed. The meeting strengthened inter-institutional coordination for public maritime policies.

The Ecuadorian Navy held the Seventh Ordinary Meeting of the National Maritime Organization System (SOMANA), with the participation of representatives from various state institutions, including the Port Authority of Guayaquil (APG) and the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (INOCAR).

During the session, maritime and port strategies, the modernization of maritime transport, and navigation safety were addressed. Aspects related to the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) were also discussed.

The meeting strengthened inter-institutional coordination for the planning and execution of public maritime policies. The participating entities reaffirmed their commitment to the comprehensive and sustainable management of national maritime spaces.
