The electric car -manufactured in Spain- Skoda Epiq will begin to be exported from the Port of Santander. This is the first model of the aforementioned brand that will be dispatched from the vehicle terminal located at the Central Raos Pier, destined for South Africa, Asia, and Europe.
In this regard, César Díaz, president of the Port Authority of Santander (APS), stated that "this is magnificent news that gives us the opportunity to showcase our countless strengths as leaders in car traffic. Our goal is to continue working and committing to quality in logistics processes so that, like the rest of the brands, the Volkswagen Group continues to trust us."
Furthermore, Díaz maintained that "the APS continues to make significant investments to achieve an increase in the efficiency and capacity of the car terminal," as well as improving rail-port connectivity and increasing digitalization in logistics processes in a traffic "that is strategic for the port."
Regarding these works, it was reported that "the expansion of the car silo, the ramp for roll-on/roll-off (roro) traffic at Raos 7, the Raos 9 quay with its heel and ramp for this infrastructure, or the creation of new logistics activity areas, such as the curvilinear triangle that has just made 45,000 new square meters available for this traffic, stand out."
