Fincantieri and TUI Cruises, the joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises, have celebrated the delivery of Mein Schiff Flow at Fincantieri's Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.
The vessel is the second ship in TUI Cruises' new InTUItion class and has been designed for dual-fuel operation using liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine gas oil (MGO). The delivery ceremony was attended by regional civil and military authorities, together with executives from both companies, including TUI Cruises Chief Executive Officer Wybcke Meier, Fincantieri President Biagio Mazzotta and Fincantieri Chief Executive Officer Pierroberto Folgiero.
With a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000 and accommodation for around 4,000 passengers, Mein Schiff Flow is based on a new-generation platform developed by Fincantieri with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The design seeks to lower operational consumption while meeting the latest environmental and regulatory requirements.
The ship has been engineered to operate on LNG and is prepared for the future use of alternative low-emission fuels, including bio-LNG and e-LNG. Its environmental technologies include Euro 6-compliant catalytic converters, a steam turbine that recovers residual heat from the diesel generators, and shore-power connectivity. These systems are intended to support near-emission-free operations while the vessel is alongside, a period that accounts for a significant portion of its operating time.
In addition, the vessel features an advanced waste treatment system capable of converting organic waste into recyclable materials through a thermal processing method, further supporting onboard sustainability objectives.
During the delivery event, Fincantieri highlighted that Mein Schiff Flow represented another milestone in its long-standing cooperation with TUI Cruises. The shipbuilder noted that the project reflected a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability and quality, while also demonstrating Fincantieri's capability to deliver technologically complex cruise vessels and support the continued evolution of the cruise sector.
The delivery further strengthens the partnership between the two companies. In September 2025, TUI Cruises and Fincantieri signed a contract for two additional InTUItion-class vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2031 and 2032. These future ships will be built to advanced environmental standards and will expand the class established by Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow, reinforcing the long-term collaboration between Fincantieri, TUI Cruises and Royal Caribbean Group.
