Barn Owl Rescued by British Army Sailors 70 Nautical Miles at Sea

A British Army sailing crew competing in the 50th Anniversary RORC Round Britain and Ireland Race rescued an exhausted barn owl 70 nautical miles from shore. The bird, named Little Regina, was secured by sailors aboard Fujitsu British Soldier and transferred to a wildlife center by the Barn Owl Trust, Marine and Wildlife Rescue, and Caister Independent Lifeboat while the crew continued their 1,805-nautical-mile circumnavigation.
