The Comoros-flagged dry cargo vessel Volgo Balt 226 was targeted in a drone attack while operating in the Black Sea. No injuries among the crew were reported.

The incident was reported by Ilham Nasirov, chairman of the Support to Azerbaijani Seafarers Public Union, in a social media post on 20 August. The vessel was carrying 11 crew members, comprising 10 Azerbaijani seafarers and 1 Georgian national, when the attack occurred.
All the crew members were reported safe following the attack. Despite being targeted, Volgo Balt 226 remained operational and continued its voyage. The vessel is currently sailing toward Trabzon, Turkey.
Volgo Balt 226 is a 1980-built cargo vessel operated by the Marshall Islands-based shipping firm Primavera Marine. The vessel measures 114 meters in length and 13.2 meters in width.
