Ammonium Nitrate Seizure at Port of Chancay After Cosco Shipping Alert

Cosco Shipping reported alerting Peruvian institutions about an excess of ammonium nitrate at the Port of Chancay. On August 9, the vessel Papua arrived from Brazil with 5,593 bags instead of the 5,591 declared, an additional 2.5 tons. Sunat seized the cargo. The Ministry of Interior reported that the product remains under temporary custody of Sunat and will be handed over to Sucamec for verification.
