During this last meeting, previously addressed topics were developed, especially advancing in the definition of future cooperation activities among the participating coast guard services, aimed at promoting the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and good practices, as well as strengthening institutional capacities through technical cooperation initiatives.
Likewise, aspects related to the program of future meetings and activities were agreed upon, establishing coordination mechanisms that will allow for the continuity of joint work among the participating organizations.
Finally, progress was made in the planning and organization of the next World Coast Guard Summit, defining different guidelines and necessary actions for its development.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the coast guard services from Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Benin, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Italy, Latvia, South Korea, Lithuania, Bahrain, United States, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom, among others, and was organized by the Coast Guard Service of the Republic of India.
