He brings nearly three decades of international experience in newbuilding and refurbishment projects across the global cruise industry to the role.
Trevor Young, founder of Ocean Ventures Advisory, is Seatrade Cruise's Ship Design and Build Ambassador. A globally recognised leader in cruise ship development, he has successfully guided major newbuild and refurbishment programmes from early concept development through to operational delivery.
Over the course of his career, Young has directed the delivery of more than 25 mega ships, working with leading cruise brands, shipyards, designers, and suppliers around the world. His extensive experience includes senior roles with Star Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Genting Hong Kong, and most recently as Vice President, New Building at MSC Cruises.
"I am honoured to be named a new Seatrade Cruise Ambassador. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about supporting the growth and development of the cruise industry, fostering collaboration across the global maritime community, and helping to build stronger connections between shipbuilders, cruise lines, suppliers, and partners,' Young shared.
With extensive experience across both Western cruise operations and Asian shipbuilding capabilities, Young has supported the growth of cruise infrastructure and expertise world wide.
Through Ocean Ventures Advisory, he provides independent consultancy services in pre-contract design, feasibility studies, project strategy, and innovation support, helping to foster collaboration between cruise lines, shipyards, designers, and industry partners worldwide.
Young is looking forward to attending Seatrade Cruise Asia from November 16–20, 2026 in Malaysia, "and reconnecting with old friends, meeting new industry colleagues, and continuing to share ideas and experiences that contribute to the future success of our industry."
