The delivery ceremony for Viking's new river ship, the Viking Ptah, which will sail the waters of the Nile River, took place at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt.

Viking maintains its focus on well-defined and long-term growth plans, as part of a strategy to continue leading the experiential travel sector. According to confirmed orders, the company expects to receive 20 additional river ships by 2028, nine more ocean ships by 2031, and two expedition ships by 2031. With this, the shipping company will have 114 river vessels by 2028 and 26 ocean and expedition vessels by 2031.
With capacity for 82 passengers in 41 staterooms, the Viking Ptah is specifically designed to sail the Nile River on Viking's popular 12-day Pharaohs and Pyramids itinerary. Inspired by the brand's river and ocean ships, the unit and its identical sister ships feature elegant Scandinavian design, including a distinctive square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace.
