Vow ASA's Scanship firmed an agreement to provide a €6.4m advanced wastewater treatment system to a major European shipyard for a cruise newbuild, previously mentioned as an option.
This will be the sixth vessel in a series.
The first equipment delivery is planned for October 2027 and the vessel is scheduled to enter operation toward the end of 2029.
"Through this contract, we continue our long-standing cooperation with the shipyard and the cruise line. The vessel will be equipped with Scanship systems, reinforcing our joint commitment to reliable and sustainable solutions," Vow ASA CEO Gunnar Pedersen said.
All wastewater will be purified according to Baltic Sea and Alaska standards, the most stringent globally. All residue sludge from the wastewater, along with food waste and other biogenic waste from hotel operations, will undergo several processing steps such as dewatering, homogenization, drying and, finally, incineration or shore delivery.
This waste management system further enhances the circular economy, recovering valuable commodities such as glass and aluminum for landing.
