Manzanillo remains Mexico's main port for containerized cargo movement thanks to its geographical position and its advantages as a product exchange point with Mexico's main trading partners.
During the January-May 2026 period, the Port of Manzanillo mobilized 1,737,022 TEUs, consolidating its position as the country's main maritime logistics hub.
This volume of operation reflects the confidence that shipping companies, terminals, and importing and exporting companies maintain in the port's infrastructure and logistical services. It also confirms Manzanillo's operational capacity to handle the sustained growth of commercial exchange and respond to the needs of global supply chains.
At the same time, the Port of Manzanillo is advancing in the execution of strategic modernization and expansion projects, among which the development of the New Manzanillo-Cuyutlán Port stands out. This project will significantly increase its operational and logistical capacity. This expansion will allow it to meet the growing demand for maritime trade, strengthen the competitiveness of the national port system, and consolidate Manzanillo as a port prepared for the challenges of the future.
