The Executive Branch today appointed César Alfonso Luna Victoria León as the head of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat).
The measure was formalized through supreme resolution N° 027-2026-EF in the Legal Norms bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.
In the same resolution, the resignation submitted by Javier Eduardo Franco Castillo as National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration is accepted, and he is thanked for his services.
The legal provision is signed by the President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori Higuchi, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Elmer Cuba Bustinza.
It should be noted that Article 9 of Law Nº 29816, Law for the Strengthening of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration, establishes that the national superintendent is appointed by the President of the Republic, with the agreement of the Council of Ministers and at the proposal of the Minister of Economy and Finance, by means of a Supreme Resolution.
