The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports that Banco de Inversión y Comercio Exterior (BICE) has expanded access to financing for the livestock sector through a new global quota of up to $10 billion in syndicated guarantees.
Following an agreement signed with the Cámara Argentina de Sociedades y Fondos de Garantía (CASFOG), more than 15 Sociedades de Garantía Recíproca (SGR) jointly provide guarantees for Product Value loans.
The joint – or syndicated – guarantee scheme allows several SGRs to group together to back the same credit operation. In this way, producers can access credit with a more agile process, less documentation, and without immobilizing assets to back the financing.
This financial tool has the particularity of setting installments in productive units – kilograms of steer – which remain invariable throughout the loan term, allowing producers to know from the outset the quantity they will have to allocate to their monthly commitment. Payment is made in pesos according to the value expressed by the INMAG (Índice Novillo del Mercado Agroganadero) at the time of payment.
Regarding the conditions, financing is granted with a fixed rate of UVA + 7% annually, a term of up to 5 years, and a maximum amount of $800 million per investment purpose. Registered MiPyMEs dedicated to breeding, full-cycle, and/or stud farming of beef cattle, with at least three years of proven activity, can access it.
For recipients accessing through this guarantee system, the maximum amount is up to $200 million per operation, to ensure the tool reaches a greater number of producers.
With the new guarantees, BICE continues to promote the financing of livestock producers, an activity that is growing in exports compared to the same period in 2025 and is in full market opening, such as the recent case of Japan, where Argentine beef will be sold after 20 years. Since the launch of the tool, the bank has already granted more than $30 billion in product value loans to bovine producers throughout the country.
