Currently, representatives from the Paraguayan Naval General Prefecture (PGN), the Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards of the Peruvian Navy (DICAPI), and the General Directorate of Maritime Territory and Merchant Marine of Chile (DIRECTEMAR) are stationed at the Guardacostas Building. Their presence fosters daily coordination between organizations and facilitates joint initiatives.
In this context, the Secretariat for International Affairs is implementing an agenda aimed at providing them with comprehensive knowledge of the organization, competencies, and functions of the Argentine Naval Prefecture. The program includes institutional presentations, participation in events, training activities, and tours of operational units, to familiarize them with the specificities and challenges of different jurisdictions.
As part of this initiative, Captain Derlys Javier Manevy Flores (PGN), Commander Cristhian Pérez Cárdenas (DICAPI), and Commander Alfredo Ignacio Acevedo Vera (DIRECTEMAR) carried out an official mission at the Prefectura Embalse Río Hondo.
During their stay, they were received by the head of the unit, Prefect Roberto Salvador Cardozo, and participated in various activities aimed at gaining first-hand knowledge of the Institution's deployment and operational functions in a jurisdiction with particular geographical characteristics.
Among the actions carried out, they conducted nautical control navigation on the Río Hondo reservoir and the Dulce River, as well as jurisdictional patrolling, which allowed them to learn about the surveillance and inspection tasks carried out by personnel in the different areas under the unit's responsibility.
The agenda also included working meetings with public officials from the region, during which they exchanged information and experiences, and learned about relevant aspects of the geopolitical and operational reality of the area.
These activities allow for deepening mutual understanding, strengthening communication channels, and consolidating cooperation between Maritime Authorities, promoting joint work in terms of security and protection of aquatic spaces.
