The emergency began when the director of the island's Health Unit requested the institution's intervention due to the patient's health, who presented dizziness, nausea, abdominal pain, arterial hypotension, tachycardia, and an oxygen saturation of 93 percent.
After the corresponding interconsultation with professionals from the Health Department of the Prefectura Naval Argentina, her immediate evacuation to a higher complexity care center was recommended.
Given this situation, the institution's helicopter PA-41, with specialized personnel on board, arrived at the Martín García Island airfield and proceeded to transfer the patient, who was accompanied by her daughter.
The aircraft subsequently took off for San Fernando International Airport, from where the woman was transferred to the San Cayetano Municipal Hospital, located in San Fernando, Buenos Aires province, to continue with her medical attention.
Finally, she underwent revascularization due to an arterial obstruction and was subsequently transferred to the coronary care unit where she will remain under observation.
