The Argentine Naval Prefecture carried out an educational voyage to complement the training of students of the Yacht Pilot Course, through an experience aboard a unit of the Force.
The activity, which included the participation of 25 students, accompanied by teachers Prefecto Mayor (RE) Gustavo Larrandart Beltrán and Hugo Gatta Castel, was developed within the framework of the proposals of the University Extension Center for Recreational Boating. The voyage began with the departure from Dock E of the Port of Buenos Aires, bound for the anchorage and pilotage waiting area of Rada La Plata.

The experience allowed complementing the theoretical contents of the training with direct contact with the operational environment of navigation. The course covers knowledge of astronomical navigation, meteorology, safety, and nautical legislation, essential for the responsible performance of those who aspire to command recreational vessels.
The GC-24 Mantilla is based in Dock E and reports to the Coast Guard Vessel Service, belonging to the Directorate of Maritime, Fluvial, and Lacustrine Traffic. This service is responsible for the operational planning and logistical support of the assigned units, which perform functions related to navigation safety, aid and rescue, search and rescue, and the control of activities in national jurisdictional waters.
Through these initiatives, the national Maritime Authority promotes nautical training and outreach with the community, contributing to strengthening the knowledge and practices necessary for the safe and responsible development of nautical activities.
