The proposal addressed suicide prevention from a comprehensive perspective, considering individual factors as well as the influence of relationships, support networks, working conditions, and social and gender mandates when recognizing distress and seeking help.
During the activity, participants worked on myths and warning signs, the barriers that make it difficult to take that step, and the need to create spaces for listening. The challenges of the role/service were also analyzed, marked by demands, responsibility, and response to critical situations, and how to reconcile these demands with the recognition and regulation of emotions.
Other key topics included strengthening support networks, strategies for accompanying individuals experiencing psychological suffering, and postvention, in addition to disseminating guidance and assistance resources.
With this initiative, the Comprehensive Gender Center seeks to contribute to an institutional culture that promotes care and encourages each member to express what they are going through and seek help in a timely manner.
