The President of Chile, José Antonio Kast, reiterated the importance of implementing bioceanic corridors to mobilize goods from Argentina destined for the Asian market.
It was during the inspection of the works for the Santiago-Melipilla railway project that the president emphasized the importance of strategic investments, assuring that when Argentina needs to export its products via the Pacific coast, they will necessarily have to use Chilean infrastructure, which must continue to be expanded.
"We need more investments like these, and that requires a vision for the future where we invite more people to invest. What will happen when our Argentine friends want to send their products to Asia? They will have to pass through Chile, and we will need more trains and more ports," he indicated.
In the same vein, Kast spoke about the Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor, stating, "What will happen when the Bioceanic Corridor is inaugurated? It comes from Brazil and will pass through Bolivia and Paraguay; and Uruguayans are attentive, everyone is attentive. Chile has a privilege that other countries do not have, as it is an open window to Asia Pacific and a stable country with functioning institutions."
Just a few days ago, José Antonio Kast had referred to these initiatives during the celebration of Truck Driver's Day, where he highlighted strategic cooperation with Argentina.
It is worth remembering that recently, the Embassy of Chile in Argentina reported that it continues to work together with the Government of the Province of Jujuy to enhance the land connection of the aforementioned territory with the ports of northern Chile.
Furthermore, in the southern zone, the idea of connecting the Province of Neuquén by railway with the port facilities of the Bio Bio Region is being raised.
