With the arrival of the vessel African Quail at the Port of Concepción del Uruguay, located in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina, the loading process of pine and eucalyptus logs for the Indian market has begun.
"After the export of almost 20,000 tons of soybean meal to Denmark completed 15 days ago, a new bulk cargo of pine and eucalyptus logs destined for India has started," reported the Port of Concepción del Uruguay.
Marcos Di Giuseppe, president of the Port Authority of Concepción del Uruguay, detailed that "this is a bulk carrier that will load about 18,000 tons in Concepción del Uruguay and complete its cargo in Ibicuy. These are concrete activities that generate work and movement for the entire logistics chain linked to our city's port."
The ultramarine vessel docked at midday on Saturday, September 12, at piers 14, 15, and 16 of the Uruguayan port, with loading operations commencing an hour later, handled by Urcel Argentina, responsible for the complete logistics, from the cultivation forests to the vessel's holds, as well as its commercialization with different international markets.
"Every vessel that enters is an opportunity to consolidate cargo, demonstrate that the port is prepared, and continue positioning Concepción del Uruguay as a competitive logistics hub for Entre Ríos and regional production," emphasized Di Giuseppe.
The African Quail arrived from Brazil, and it is estimated that after about three days of operations (24 hours a day), it will set sail for the Port of Ibicuy, in southern Entre Ríos, to complete approximately 30,000 tons destined for the Port of Kandla, in India.
