The Cristo Redentor Integrated System will remain preventively closed this Thursday, September 10, for all types of vehicles, due to the unstable weather conditions announced for the high mountains.
The measure was adopted by the Chilean and Argentine Coordination Committee of the Cristo Redentor Integrated System, after a meeting held this Wednesday, September 9, and after analyzing the technical reports provided by both road authorities.
According to the statement issued by the Provincial Presidential Delegation of Los Andes, the anticipated meteorological conditions could affect the passability and safety of users of the border crossing.
The authority reported that the route situation will be evaluated throughout this Thursday and that a report with the weather and transitability conditions will be issued at 8:00 PM, from which the situation for Friday, September 11, will be determined.
Likewise, it was indicated that any information or update on the status of the route will be communicated promptly through official channels.
