Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's new Icon-class ship, arrived on November 7, 2026, at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for its first visit to the United States. With this arrival, the ship became the first in the Icon class to be homeported at that terminal, after also being the first Icon-class ship to debut in Europe during the Northern Hemisphere summer.
Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean, celebrated the ship's arrival in Fort Lauderdale following an inaugural season in Europe and noted that, alongside Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, Legend expands the Icon-class options sailing from Florida. For his part, Mark D. Bogen, Mayor of Broward County, pointed out that the ship's arrival helps strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and boost tourism in the region.
Itinerary
The ship arrived following a transatlantic crossing that began in Barcelona on October 25, with calls in Palma de Mallorca, Málaga, and Cádiz, and included a brief diversion to Puerto Rico on November 5 to allow the U.S. Coast Guard to carry out a medical evacuation, without affecting the arrival schedule. Legend of the Seas will kick off its Caribbean season with a three-night getaway to Perfect Day CocoCay in the Bahamas, and on November 11 the ship's official naming ceremony will take place, with retired General Lori J. Robinson serving as godmother. The regular program will begin on November 14, alternating six-night Western Caribbean itineraries with eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, the latter featuring calls in Willemstad, Curaçao, and Oranjestad, Aruba, in addition to Perfect Day CocoCay on both routes.
Ship Specifications
Legend of the Seas has a gross tonnage of 250,800 GT and was built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. It has capacity for 5,610 passengers in double occupancy and is the third ship in Royal Caribbean's Icon class, following Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. The ship will remain in Fort Lauderdale until spring 2027, when it will return to Europe for another Mediterranean season.
Onboard
The ship features eight themed neighborhoods and more than 40 dining and drinking venues, including the Hollywoodland Supper Club and Royal Railway – Legend Station. Entertainment offerings include productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and America's Got Talent LIVE. Among its attractions, Category 6, billed as the largest waterpark at sea, and Crown's Edge, a combination walkway and zipline located 47 meters above the ocean, stand out.
