The Port Authority of Valencia (APV) continues to advance in the development of the RENMARINAS project, an initiative aimed at promoting the integration of renewable technologies in the maritime-port environment by connecting new energy generation sources with existing electricity grids in the ports of València and Sagunto.
In this framework, the APV has awarded the construction management and health and safety coordination service for the project, which includes the design, supply, and installation of an electrical energy evacuation system from a floating photovoltaic plant to the existing medium voltage grid in the Port of València, as well as an electrical energy evacuation system from a wave energy plant, an installation that harnesses the movement of sea waves to generate electricity that will be incorporated into the medium voltage grid of the Port of Sagunto.
The action is part of the RENMARINAS project, which is committed to the development of energy solutions linked to the maritime environment and the application of innovative renewable technologies in port areas. The project is financed within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union–Next GenerationEU, through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE).
The initiative is part of the promotion of technologies related to offshore wind, wave, tidal energy, and other renewable solutions applied to the maritime environment, favoring research, demonstration, and implementation of new energy models associated with the port sector.
Two actions for the ports of València and Sagunto
APPLUS NORCONTROL S.L.U. has been awarded a contract that includes two differentiated actions. On the one hand, the construction management and health and safety coordination of the electrical energy evacuation system from a floating photovoltaic plant installed in the Port of València to the existing medium voltage grid.
On the other hand, the lot related to the Port of Sagunto, the awarded action is linked to the installation of an energy evacuation system from a wave energy plant to the medium voltage grid of the port facility.
The contract associated with the floating photovoltaic plant in the Port of València has a base bidding budget of 97,484.42 euros (VAT included), while the one corresponding to the wave energy action in the Port of Sagunto amounts to 94,860.22 euros (VAT included). Both services have an estimated execution period of 13 months.
With this action, Valenciaport continues to promote projects linked to energy transition and innovation applied to the port sector, moving towards a more efficient and sustainable model through the incorporation of new renewable solutions.
