The Port of Malaga was present at the international fair Fruit Attraction, held from October 6 to 8 in Madrid, with the aim of continuing to generate business opportunities oriented to the fruit and vegetable sector.
The Malaga delegation, led by the president of the Port Authority, Carlos Rubio Basabe, had a space at the Puertos del Estado stand, from where it carried out a schedule of meetings with producers, importers, exporters, logistics operators, and shipping companies linked to the fruit and vegetable supply chain.
During the fair, the Port of Malaga presented the capabilities and services of its port infrastructure for these types of products, as well as its maritime connections and the possibilities offered by Malaga as an entry and exit point for refrigerated goods destined for both the national and European markets. Therefore, operability, cold chain preservation, traceability, and the coordination of the different agents were the fundamental aspects discussed during these meetings to promote the port area as an efficient, connected opportunity space adapted to the specific needs of perishable products.
Participation in Fruit Attraction also allowed for direct contact with the different members of the logistics chain and to understand their needs in order to identify new traffic, establish commercial alliances, and consolidate existing ones to continue improving the competitiveness of the Port of Malaga's logistics offering.
The participation of the Port of Malaga in Fruit Attraction also represents the starting point of a week especially linked to logistics activity and the fruit and vegetable sector. Next Friday, October 9, the third edition of Malaga Fruit Day will take place in Malaga, a professional meeting that will once again bring together representatives from production, import, export, shipping companies, and logistics operators to analyze opportunities and highlight the capabilities of the Port of Malaga for the movement of agri-food products.
The day will coincide with the celebration of the first Logistics Festival of the Port of Malaga, a new initiative aimed at bringing together the Port Community and professionals linked to the logistics chain, strengthening ties between the different agents and highlighting the strategic role of the Port as an infrastructure at the service of economic activity and international trade.
