Oceania Cruises' Allura called at Santa Cruz de La Palma and, a day later, at Santa Cruz de Tenerife. During both inaugural visits, the ship and its representatives were welcomed by representatives of the Port Authority, accompanied by their respective port agents.
In Tenerife, the welcoming delegation included Luz Marina Espiau Moreno, Commercial and Business Development Director and member of the MedCruise Board of Directors.
The traditional plaque exchange ceremonies provided an opportunity to strengthen the relationship with the cruise line and, above all, to showcase the diversity of experiences available on the islands.
The consecutive visits to La Palma and Tenerife demonstrate the complementarity of two destinations with their own distinctive identities. Attracting the luxury segment also aligns with a broader destination strategy, focused not only on increasing cruise volume but also on increasing the value generated by each call.
For La Palma and Tenerife, cruise activity represents an opportunity to connect visitors with the rest of the destination and distribute its economic benefits throughout the local tourism ecosystem. The goal is to create valuable experiences for guests, while also generating significant opportunities for the communities that host them.
In Tenerife, the call was complemented by a refueling operation, demonstrating how the destination experience can be combined with the operational services required by cruise companies during their Atlantic itineraries.
