The Port Authority of Castellón, through the PortCastelló Foundation, arrives this week at the most important cruise fair in the Mediterranean, Seatrade Cruise Med, held on September 16 and 17 at the Cruise Terminal of the Port of Las Palmas, to project Castellón's potential as a leading boutique port in the Mediterranean and a destination for premium cruise calls.
During these days, the Castellón delegation, led by the President of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, and the Foundation's manager, Susana Soria, will maintain an intense work agenda with important international shipping companies to consolidate and attract new calls, such as Aman at Sea or Marella Cruises, as well as with different tour operators, among which Calypso Tours stands out as ambassadors for Castellón.
"Castellón, the stop that awakens the senses"
In addition to more than a dozen scheduled B2B meetings where already confirmed calls for this year will be organized and coordinated, on Thursday morning at the State Ports stand, the President of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, will present the campaign "Castellón, the stop that awakens the senses" to the main companies in the sector. This is an innovative proposal based on authenticity, proximity, and the creation of personalized experiences around the territory, a proposal for attracting calls based on offering a unique experience for cruise passengers.
Over 20 Confirmed Calls for 2026-2027
Furthermore, the initiative starts from an already consolidated growth base. PortCastelló has over 20 confirmed cruise calls for 2026 and 2027, with an estimated 21,000 passengers and crew during this period.
The President of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, highlighted that "these figures demonstrate that the market is responding very positively and open an opportunity to continue growing alongside cruise companies."
"PortCastelló wants to leverage its participation in Seatrade Las Palmas to advance in attracting new itineraries, premium and boutique calls, tailor-made experiences, and long-term alliances with companies in the sector," Ibáñez stated.
Seatrade Cruise Med 2026
Seatrade Cruise Med will bring together more than 2,000 professionals from over 90 countries, including port representatives, operators, and specialized companies, along with approximately 220 representatives from shipping companies, and will transform the port of Las Palmas during those days into one of the main global decision-making centers for the cruise industry.
