The PortAutors-es new musical talent contest, organized by Port Tarragona, is in its last week for submissions. Those interested in participating can do so until October 7 through the PortAutors-es Registration Form, following the contest rules. This year marks the seventh edition of the event, consolidated as one of the main platforms in the territory for discovering, promoting, and giving visibility to new musical talents. From all applications, the jury will select six finalists, who will perform in the final on November 21 at the Teatret del Serrallo. The contest has five different prizes, designed to strengthen the artistic projection of the winners.
PortAutors-es is aimed at adult singer-songwriters of any nationality who perform their own compositions. The contest accepts any musical style, instrumentation, and language, with the aim of promoting creativity, artistic quality, and the diversity of singer-songwriter music.
This year, as a novelty, the contest has incorporated specific training in stage presence and direction for the six finalists. This training will be offered before the contest final, with the aim that the selected individuals have tools to help them improve their staging before the gala.
Beyond the contest, PortAutors-es continues to support and promote participating artists through initiatives such as the PortAutors Family Project, which includes training sessions for finalists, taught by professionals from different cultural disciplines to strengthen their artistic and professional skills; and PortAutors en Xarxa, an initiative that promotes collaboration between festivals, programmers, and cultural spaces to generate new performance opportunities and give continuity to the careers of emerging artists in the territory.
To participate in this seventh edition, you must complete the PortAutors-es 2026 Registration Form, following the contest rules, before October 7, 2026.
Candidates must submit:
• the duly completed registration form
• three original pieces (published or unreleased)
• technical sheet including artist information and accompanying persons if applicable
• graphic material to be used as promotional material
A jury made up of music and performing arts professionals will select six finalist artists and four reserves.
The six finalists will perform on November 21, at 6 p.m., at the Teatret del Serrallo, where they will perform up to three original compositions before the jury and the public.
The gala will culminate with the awards ceremony for the seventh edition of PortAutors-es.
PortAutors-es offers five awards designed to contribute to the artistic projection of its participants.
The Jury's Award will recognize the best artistic proposal and will include performances during 2027 at different festivals and music series, including Espai Jove Kesse, Festes de Santa Tecla, the PortAutors-es final, Altacústic, Festival Accents, and Eufònic.
The Audience Award will be chosen by popular vote on social networks and will consist of material for improving musical recordings with the sponsorship of Mediaframe.
The Local Artist Award will distinguish the best finalist from the Tarragona demarcation and will consist of musical training or music production training by Yamaha Music School Tarragona.
The FIM Vila-seca Award will offer the possibility of performing at the Fira de Música Emergent i Familiar de Vila-seca (FIM) 2027. To qualify for this award, it is essential to also register for the FIM artistic call, available at: https://pro.fim.cat/
Finally, the Port Tarragona Award will consist of the production of a professional music video recorded in unique spaces within the port area.
With this seventh edition, PortAutors-es continues to consolidate itself as a reference platform for the promotion of new singer-songwriter talents, offering emerging artists an opportunity to showcase their project to the public and professionals in the music sector.
