Container movement at the Port of Manzanillo increased by 4.7% in the first four months of the year, with 1,352,970 TEU. This result at the Mexican terminal was driven by an 8.9% growth in export volumes.
This is indicated in the monthly statistical report from the National Port System Administration Manzanillo (Asipona) of the Secretariat of the Navy, which specifies that container cargo represented 74% of the total commercial cargo at the site in the first four months of 2026.
Mineral bulk cargo, highlighting products such as iron pellets and mineral fertilizer, accounted for 14% of the total, while agricultural bulk cargo (mainly soybean, oat seed, wheat, and barley) absorbed 7% of the total cargo. Likewise, general cargo, consisting of steel products and derivatives, project cargo, and mineral fertilizer in super sacks, accounted for approximately 5%.
On the other hand, from January to April, 573 vessels arrived at the Port of Manzanillo, 40 more than in the same period of the previous year, when 533 arrived. Of that total, 388 vessels, equivalent to 68%, carried container boxes, while 59 (10%) transported general cargo, 48 mineral cargo (8%), 17 agricultural cargo (3%), and 61 (11%) petroleum products and derivatives.
Additionally, seven cruise ships docked, two more than in the same period of 2025, with almost 14,000 passengers on board.
