FOR PORT CONNECTIVITY AND URBAN MOBILITY
Within the framework of the Public Works Investment Plan for the 2025-2030 period, ASIPONA Lázaro Cárdenas is allocating a total investment of 1,729 million pesos for the development of projects aimed at strengthening port logistics and transforming urban mobility for the direct benefit of the population.
As part of this commitment to economic development, security, and regional connectivity, we inform citizens, transporters, and the port community about the development of two strategic road infrastructure projects currently underway within Lázaro Cárdenas City.
1. Construction and Expansion of an Alternate Road to the Port Enclosure, Lázaro Cárdenas Port Bypass, and Expansion of the SICARTSA Bridge
Location: SICARTSA Bypass (between Melchor Ocampo Ave. and Morelos Ave.)
Execution period: June 02, 2026 to September 15, 2027
Investment: $214,882,436.00 MXN
Objective and social benefit: To increase the operational capacity and road safety of access to the port enclosure through the modernization of existing infrastructure. This work will streamline cargo traffic, reduce travel times, and decongest heavy traffic in the urban area, improving mobility for the entire community.
Main scopes:
· Expansion of the road from 2 to 4 lanes, including lateral shoulders.
· Expansion of the SICARTSA bridge
· Construction of a central median for organizing maneuvers at intersections.
· Installation of a storm drainage network (gutters) and public lighting with LED technology.
2. Adaptation of Road Infrastructure at the Access to the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas, Mich.
Location: Access to Lázaro Cárdenas City (between Puentes Cuates and Lázaro Cárdenas Junction)
Execution period: July 21, 2026 to April 30, 2027
Investment: $68,503,088.55 MXN.
Objective and social benefit: To modernize the hydraulic infrastructure and expand the road section to improve mobility and vehicular safety at the main access to the city.
Main scopes:
· Closure of open-air canal, replacing it with prefabricated hydraulic concrete boxes.
· Expansion of the road section from 2 to 3 lanes in each direction of circulation.
· Construction of road turnarounds.
· Placement of horizontal and vertical road signage.
· Public lighting based on LED luminaires.
