Mexican ports handled 41,415,175 tonnes of coastal shipping cargo between January and September 2026, 6.5% more than in the same period of 2025, according to preliminary statistics from the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine (CGPMM).
Coastal shipping refers to maritime transport between domestic ports, unlike international maritime traffic, which involves movements between Mexican and foreign ports.
