The Port de Barcelona has published its 2025 Annual Report, which includes the main milestones of a year marked by the promotion of energy transition, the development of new strategic infrastructures, and the consolidation of its role as an economic and logistical driver. The publication offers an overview of the port's activity and its economic, social, and environmental impact.
Sustainability is the backbone of this 2025 Report, which structures information around the creation of economic, social, and environmental value. All actions in the 2025 Annual Report are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are articulated around the axes of its Strategic Plan.
During 2025, the Port de Barcelona reaffirmed its position as a leader in Spain in foreign trade value, channeling goods valued at €111.7 billion. In terms of volume, total traffic reached 69.5 million tons and 3.7 million TEUs in containers.
In the economic sphere, the Port Authority closed the 2025 fiscal year with a turnover of €206.3 million and a net profit of €59 million. With a cash flow of €113.8 million, the entity maintained a high pace of public investment in infrastructure, which stood at €84.4 million directly.
Among the most notable milestones of the year is the tendering process for 7 major infrastructure projects totaling €332.5 million, including the first phase of the future Catalunya dock's dikes, new berths for alternative fuels at the l'Energia dock, and the fourth phase of the Adossat dock's expansion. Likewise, the approval of the Urban Master Plan for the Intermodal Logistics Terminal represents a decisive step for the development of the new southern railway hub.
Environmental Sustainability and Innovation continue to be the backbone of the Port de Barcelona's strategic direction. In 2025, the Energy Transition Plan was approved with a 2040 horizon to achieve emissions neutrality by 2050, while progress was made on the Nexigen project for the electrification of the docks and construction began on the BlueTechPort blue economy hub in the Sant Bertran dock sheds.
Finally, the 2025 Annual Report highlights the social dimension and port-city integration, exemplified by the opening of the renovated Pescadors dock and new spaces at the Barcelona dock around the World Trade Center for public use.
The 2025 Annual Report is available on the Port de Barcelona website in Catalan, Spanish, and English.
