Scorpio Tankers Dumps Older LR2 Tankers in $286 Million Fleet Shakeup
Scorpio Tankers announced agreements to sell four LR2 product tankers for $285.8 million, including the 2014-built STI Broadway and STI Condotti, and the 2015-built STI Winnie and STI Lauren, with closings expected in Q2-Q3 2026. Simultaneously, the Monaco-based owner signed a letter of intent to purchase two scrubber-fitted MR newbuildings for $46.25 million each from Jiangsu Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding in China, with delivery scheduled for Q1 2030. The company also plans $367.8 million in unscheduled debt prepayments across secured credit facilities maturing in 2028.
