To continue providing you with consistent global services amidst high demand and limited capacity, Maersk is implementing a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for the scope of Europe to South Africa. This surcharge is effective from October 15th, 2026 and will remain in effect until further notice.
The tariff amount is detailed as follows:

*Origin MED (Mediterranean) refers to following countries: Andorra, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Monaco, Moldova, Montenegro, Macedonia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, San Marino, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
*Destination SAF refers to South Africa
*Applicable equipment types include dry, high dry, bulk, collapsible flat rack, flat rack, hive, pallet wide, open top, tank, and twin deck.
Non-SPOT booking – The above rate is retrieved based on Price Calculation Date (PCD).
For non-FMC, PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation for non-spot bookings.
For FMC, PCD is last container gate-in date for non-spot bookings.
SPOT booking – PSS is not applicable on SPOT booking.
Pay term – The above charge is collected follow freight paid.

For trades subject to the US Shipping Act or the China Maritime Regulations, quotations or surcharges that vary from the Maersk tariff shall not be binding on Maersk unless included in a service contract or service contract amendment that has been filed with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) or the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, as applicable.
