Cruise Ship Overnight Stays in Funchal Double in First Quarter of 2026
According to APRAM data, the Port of Funchal recorded 41 overnight calls between January and March 2026, doubling the 27 from the same period in 2025 (+51.8%). The number of passengers reached 84,091 compared to 59,649 in 2025 (+40.97%), while the crew reached 32,868. Paula Cabaço, CEO of Ports of Madeira, highlighted that the cruise industry generates over USD 74 million annually for the regional economy.
