Circular Economy Boosts Fishing Industry Efficiency by 30%
The Peruvian fishing industry has improved its productive efficiency by 30% through the application of a circular economy, according to the Association of Fishmeal and Fish Oil Producers (Apro). The modernization of plants reduces raw material consumption from 6 to 4.2 tons per ton of fishmeal and decreases fuel usage by 24%. Between 2019 and 2026, the sector recovered over 2.8 million kilograms of discarded fishing nets.
