FID Go-Ahead for First US Floating LNG Plant and World's Largest FLNG
Delfin Midstream reached a financial investment decision to proceed with Delfin FLNG 1, the first floating LNG project in the United States and the largest FLNG globally. Positioned off Louisiana's coast, the project will have an initial export capacity of 4.4 million tonnes of LNG per year, with a total planned capacity of 13.2 MTPA. Led by Global Infrastructure Partners (BlackRock), with investors including Mitsui O.S.K., Vitol, and Diameter Capital Partners, the $5 billion investment marks over a decade of development. The first vessel is expected to be operational in 2030.
