Greek Ferry Breaks Concrete Jetty in Half and Comes Away Undamaged
On Monday night, the car ferry Andros King hit a jetty at the entrance to Rafina port in Greece, severing it in two. The vessel was arriving from Mykonos with approximately 280 passengers and 60 crew members aboard. Despite the severe damage to the concrete jetty, the ferry remained largely undamaged with only scraped paint on the bulbous bow, and passengers were unharmed. The ferry was authorized to depart on its next commercial voyage the following morning.
