Fishing Sector Grew 30% in the First Quarter of 2026
The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries reports that the fishing Industrial Production Index registered a year-on-year increase of 31.6% in March and 30.4% in the accumulated first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to INDEC. Maritime fishing grew 31.6% cumulatively, while aquaculture advanced 24.3%. The mollusk segment stood out with a growth of 70.1%, driven by a historical record in squid capture.
