Valenciaport has closed its annual accounts for the 2025 financial year with a turnover approaching 163 million euros, representing a growth of over 8% compared to the previous year.
The President of the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), Mar Chao, presented these economic results to the Board of Directors, highlighting that pre-tax profit increased by 47.8%, exceeding 43 million euros, thanks to management efforts and cost control.
With the aim of sustaining its development, the Board of Directors has authorized a credit operation for a maximum amount of 160 million euros. This financing will be directly allocated to cover the entity's Investment Plan projected for the period between 2026 and 2030.
In the commercial and transport sector, the port continues to expand its railway connection services. A new authorization has been granted to the company LCR Hispanica SA to offer train shunting services, increasing the number of railway companies operating in the Valencia and Sagunto facilities to eleven.
This expansion responds to the increase in rail freight traffic, which until May 2026 registered the passage of 2,187 convoys, equivalent to more than 1.1 million tons of cargo and a 19% increase compared to previous periods.
Furthermore, the expansion of the Port of Sagunto was approved, allowing the Bulk Maritime Terminal to add 3,376 square meters to its current area on the docks to improve its service capacity. In the same session, the revision of the land values in said port area was ratified after the relevant public consultation processes.
Regarding education and personnel, the authorities agreed to extend the agreement with the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia for four years for the continuity of the Master's in Port Management, transferring its exploitation rights to the Valenciaport Foundation.
Likewise, various organizational changes in the port councils and in the infrastructure contract managers were validated, stemming from the appointment of Luis Fernando Sánchez as the new director of the Port Authority of Alicante.
