More than 120 people (including passengers and crew) aboard the Ruby Princess cruise ship have been diagnosed with Norovirus. The health status of those affected was confirmed once the vessel docked in San Francisco (United States).
According to Abcnews, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was notified on June 12 that some passengers had presented symptoms of this stomach virus, a situation that escalated during the course of the trip.
The cruise ship (belonging to Princess Cruises) arrived at the Port of San Francisco after completing its 20-day voyage with stops in Canada and Alaska, with a total of 3,032 passengers on board.
In this regard, Princess Cruises, through a statement, assured that its team acted quickly and that all appropriate protocols for this type of situation were implemented.
Additionally, the company indicated that they are continuing to carry out the corresponding sanitation work inside the cruise ship with the aim of preparing it for its next voyage.
