Silversea President Bert Hernandez hosts guests on the 2026 Venetian Society Reunion Voyage – a 12-day immersion through the Mediterranean, from the French Riviera to the Tuscan Hills and beyond
MIAMI – July 1, 2026 – Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has concluded its 2026 Venetian Society Reunion Voyage aboard Silver Shadow. From June 19 to July 1, first-time guests and Venetian Society members – those enrolled in Silversea's loyalty program – traveled to 10 ports across France, Italy, and Malta on a roundtrip voyage from Nice, hosted by Silversea President Bert Hernandez and other brand executives. The itinerary, selected by Venetian Society members, was marked by exclusive touches arranged specially for this sailing, from commemorative gifts to reflect destinations visited, to themed culinary experiences and enhanced entertainment. Guests celebrated the end of the voyage with a spectacular grand finale, as a farewell fireworks display illuminated the night sky in Portofino, Italy on June 30.
"Silversea's Venetian Society Reunion Voyages are built around the guests who know us best," said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. "These reunions offer a moment to connect deeply with our most loyal and experienced travelers, and I value that time – not only to celebrate, but to listen, exchange, and continually elevate the Silversea experience. This voyage delivered an itinerary they chose themselves, with one-of-a-kind moments, and every detail designed to exceed expectations – from a private evening on the Amalfi Coast to an intimate olive oil tasting at a historic estate near Gaeta. That depth of access, experienced while journeying in the company of like-minded travelers, is what keeps our guests coming back time and time again."
EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCES ASHORE AND AT SEA
Silver Shadow departed Nice on June 19 before making an overnight call in Livorno, offering a rare opportunity to venture deep into the Tuscan countryside. From there, the voyage continued to Porto Santo Stefano, Civitavecchia (Rome), Valletta in Malta, Giardini Naxos beneath the heights of Taormina, Salerno, and Portofino. The itinerary came to life through a series of exclusive events and experiences, including:
A private wine experience in Tuscany (Porto Santo Stefano, Italy): Guests joined an experience ashore, hosted by President Bert Hernandez, in Porto Santo Stefano and traveled to Tenuta Ammiraglia, the Frescobaldi family's coastal Tuscan estate. Part of one of Italy's most historic noble wine dynasties, with over 30 generations of winemaking heritage, the estate offered an exceptional backdrop for an exclusive tasting paired with lunch, set amid vine-covered hills overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
An exclusive evening in Salerno (Salerno, Italy): Venetian Society members were invited to Alla Scoperta di Ennio Morricone – an exclusive private concert held at Tenuta dei Normanni, a centuries-old estate set among ancient olive groves and Norman archways in the hills above Salerno. Guests were greeted with signature cocktails, Italian prosecco, and traditional Southern Italian specialties, before taking their seats in the estate's open-air sandstone amphitheater. There, the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra performed a tribute to the timeless works of Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, under the open night sky.
An olive oil escape at Antica Masseria (Gaeta, Italy): A small group of guests joined an intimate tasting experience at a historic masseria, exploring one of the region's oldest agricultural traditions through a guided journey from grove to table, which paired local produce and the unhurried pace of the Italian countryside.
A farewell party and fireworks (Portofino, Italy): Guests gathered above the pool deck for an emphatic farewell as Silver Shadow's singers and dancers took the stage for a final performance. The crew then descended to the pool deck, proudly representing their home nations, followed by a stunning fireworks display over the still waters of Portofino's harbor – a send-off as memorable as the journey itself.
ELEVATED DINING AND NEW ONBOARD ENTERTAINMENT
Throughout the voyage, each destination was brought to life through specially curated food and beverage experiences introduced for the Venetian Society Reunion. At La Terrazza, a newly launched dinner menu was complemented by themed lunch and breakfast activations that shifted with every port – from a live Pasta Fantasy station in Livorno to a Maltese buffet of fresh fish and seafood in Valletta. On the sea day, guests enjoyed an elaborate Silversea Brunch featuring seafood, charcuterie, cheeses, and an indulgent dessert spread. Each evening, daily happy hours brought guests together over signature cocktails, fine caviar, and handcrafted canapés.
The onboard entertainment featured a mix of returning talent and first-time Silversea performers, including vocal ensemble Tenors Unlimited and singer Kenny James. New daytime programming introduced Studio at Sea – a painting experience set to live music – and Escape Room by Puzzle Break, which challenged guests to work together to solve a series of puzzles against the clock. Guests also enjoyed special editions of trivia and bingo, hosted by President Bert Hernandez, with specially selected prizes for winners.
