Viking President/CEO Leah Talactac welcomed Nile River vessel Viking Ptah, delivered Friday from Cairo's Massara shipyard.
"Egypt continues to inspire curious travelers from around the world, and with the addition of the Viking Ptah, we are pleased to offer even more guests the opportunity to explore this extraordinary destination in the comfort of a Viking vessel," Talactac said.
The vessel houses 82 passengers in 41 staterooms and like its sisters, sports Scandinavian design, a square bow and an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace.
Viking Ptah will sail the 12-day "Pharoahs & Pyramids" cruise-tour, which bookends a Nile voyage with hotel stays in Cairo. Daily tours are included.
Based on Viking's committed orderbook, the company expects to take delivery of 20 additional river vessels by 2028, nine ocean ships by 2031 and two expedition ships by 2031.
With these orders, Viking will field 114 river vessels in 2028 and 26 ocean and expedition ships in 2031.
