Two vessels operated by the Greek shipping company Dynacom were hit by projectiles near the Strait of Hormuz.

The vessels, the Acheloos and Kavomaleas, were attacked around the same time on 20 July sailing near the coast of Oman, using the southern route to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The Malta-flagged Kavomaleas was struck by two projectiles and caught fire in the engine room. The crews evacuated the vessel and were located by Oman authority and brought to shore.
The Liberian-flagged Acheloos is a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) struck by a projectile. The crew were reported safe while the vessel has since moved to an anchorage. The vessel measures 186 meters in length, 35 meters in width and capable of transporting up to 2 million barrels of oil.
No environmental damage had been reported from either ship.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that it had "exploded" and immobilized two tankers for using what it called the unsafe southern route through the Strait of Hormuz. It remains unclear whether the two incidents were linked or if they were connected to the attacks on the Dynacom-operated tankers.
