The Strait of Hormuz recorded 108 verified vessel transits between June 26 and 28, reflecting the continuity of one of the most strategic routes for global maritime trade. The activity took place amidst persistent security risks and ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran to ensure the safe passage of vessels.
During the analyzed period, the highest movement was recorded on June 26, with 48 crossings. Vessels primarily used the Omani Route (39 transits) and the Iranian Route (37), while the IMO tracker reported 48 confirmed incidents until June 29, including the damage sustained by the vessels EVER LOVELY and KIKU, which led to the suspension of the evacuation plan promoted by the organization.
Although maritime traffic remains operational, the persistence of incidents demonstrates that security in the Strait of Hormuz continues to be a determining factor for international maritime transport. The evolution of this scenario could influence route planning, logistical costs, and the stability of global supply chains, especially for the trade of hydrocarbons and other strategic cargo.
