Road freight transport continues to consolidate as one of the main drivers of the Colombian economy. During May 2026, 14,407,727 tons of goods were mobilized, representing an 11.25% growth compared to the same period in 2025, according to information reported in the National Cargo Dispatch Registry (RNDC).
The national logistics operation also reflected significant dynamism throughout the territory. In total, 2,304 companies participated, mobilizing goods in 1,133,359 vehicles, generating 1,294,296 cargo manifests, and completing 1,221,693 trips, figures that demonstrate the sector's capacity to respond to the country's supply, production, and trade needs.
"The more than 11% growth in cargo mobilization demonstrates that Colombia is moving towards a more dynamic, efficient, and competitive logistics. Behind these figures are companies that produce, transporters who work every day, and regions that strengthen their connection with markets. From the National Government, we will continue to promote an infrastructure and transport system that facilitates trade, generates opportunities, and contributes to the country's economic growth," said the Minister of Transport, Mafe Rojas.
Among the solid goods with the highest volume of mobilization during May, corn stood out with 694,586 tons; non-alcoholic beverages with 597,547 tons; and various products with 524,938 tons, reflecting the dynamism of different productive sectors of the country.
In liquid cargo transport, the main products mobilized were refined petroleum or bituminous mineral oils, with 243.4 million gallons; crude petroleum or bituminous mineral oils, with 182.8 million gallons; and biodiesel and its mixtures, with 13.2 million gallons.
The cargo behavior also confirms the strategic role of the main national logistics corridors. Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, and Antioquia concentrated the largest volumes of transported tons, driven by the industrial, commercial, port, and distribution activity developed in these regions.
As the origin of trips, Valle del Cauca led with 2.56 million tons, followed by Cundinamarca with 2.10 million, and Antioquia with 1.61 million. Regarding destinations, Cundinamarca took first place with 1.98 million tons, followed by Antioquia with 1.93 million, and Valle del Cauca with 1.86 million.
In liquid cargo mobilization, Meta and Casanare registered the largest volumes of origin, while Casanare led the destinations during May, consolidating itself as one of the main hubs for the transport of hydrocarbons and their derivatives.
