Virgin Voyages veteran Philip Bender will be joining the global cruise logistics team at Swift Marine as global project logistics director starting in September.
In this newly established role, Bender will lead the development of dry dock and newbuild logistics, working closely with regional teams, customers and strategic partners. The company called his appointment an important step in its cruise logistics growth strategy as Swift Marine aims to become one of the industry's leading logistics partners for complex cruise projects.
Bender has 18 years of cruise industry experience, most recently from Virgin Voyages, where he was director, marine & technical procurement the past four years. He also spent more than six years in technical purchasing at Windstar Cruises, and earlier roles in purchasing and procurement were with Lindblad Expeditions, Holland America Line and Crystal.
Swift Marine is part of the Horizon Group, which also includes Horizon Air Freight and Delver Agents.
