As part of a strategic agenda in Vigo, Spain, representatives of the Argentine shipyard Tandanor visited the facilities of Armón and Cardama. Accompanied by executives from Conarpesa Wofco, the delegation advanced plans to build a modern multipurpose fishing vessel over 60 meters long in Argentina.
"The initiative contemplates the construction of the vessel in the country, integrating national industrial capabilities with technical support, the highest engineering standards, and the international experience of Spanish shipyards with a recognized track record in the naval and fishing sector," Tandanor communicated.
The Tandanor delegation was made up of Esteban Pepe, Commercial Manager; Lucas Campussano, Operations Director; and Guido Salomone, Executive Coordinator of the Commercial Management, who held technical and strategic meetings focused on the analysis of constructive capabilities, technology transfer, and industrial cooperation with leaders in the naval and fishing industry.
During tours of the shipyards' facilities, the parties evaluated different aspects related to the conceptual design of the future vessel, applied engineering, operational efficiency, automation, sustainability, and new technologies applicable to the fishing industry.
The project aims to develop a state-of-the-art multipurpose fishing vessel, adaptable to different operations and prepared to meet the most demanding international standards in terms of operation, processing, and energy efficiency.
Sources linked to the meetings highlighted that the objective is to consolidate a cooperation scheme between Argentina and Spain that allows boosting the Argentine naval industry, strengthening local capabilities, and promoting the development of high value-added vessels built in the country.
"The eventual development of the new multipurpose fishing vessel could become one of the most relevant projects in the coming years for the regional naval and fishing industry, both due to its dimensions and specific characteristics, as well as the international cooperation scheme planned for its execution," Tandanor remarked.
