Fincantieri Convenes Industry Day in Zagreb for Naval Cooperation

Fincantieri organized an Industry Day in Zagreb, bringing together the Croatian industrial ecosystem to explore cooperation opportunities in shipbuilding, engineering, advanced manufacturing, and defense. This initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to consolidate long-term industrial partnerships and foster collaboration along the naval value chain.

The event, sponsored by the Italian Embassy in Croatia, gathered representatives from the Croatian Government, Parliament, and institutions, as well as Italian institutions and over 20 local companies. Attendees included the Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia, Matej Bule.

The meeting was attended by Andro Krstulovic Opara, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Croatian Parliament; General Luigi Casali, Director of the First Department of Industrial Policy and International Relations of the Italian Ministry of Defense; Mauro Manzini, Head of Sales for Fincantieri's Naval Vessels Division; and Carlo Romeo, Head of International Institutional Affairs for Fincantieri.

The meeting represented a significant opportunity for dialogue and knowledge exchange, allowing for the identification of areas of common interest and potential areas of cooperation between Italy and Croatia.

This initiative also reflects Fincantieri's commitment to supporting industrial cooperation in Croatia, within the framework of the Croatian Ministry of Defense's program for the acquisition of two multipurpose corvettes. In this context, the event provided an opportunity to identify industrial capabilities and expertise that can contribute to the program, while fostering long-term value creation for the country's naval and defense sectors.

This initiative, which brought together shipyards, engineering companies, technology providers, and industrial players from across the country, spurred discussion on potential cooperation opportunities. Leveraging Fincantieri's global expertise in shipbuilding, advanced maritime technologies, and the underwater domain, participants analyzed how industrial knowledge, technologies, and supply chain capabilities can contribute to future naval programs and support the long-term development of Croatia's industrial base.

Furthermore, this initiative is part of the process initiated by the recently signed Memoranda of Understanding with Croatian shipyards Brodotrogir Cruise doo and Iskra Shipyard, which establish a framework for cooperation in design, engineering, and shipbuilding. The event extended this collaboration to a broader network of Croatian stakeholders, further strengthening the foundations for long-term industrial collaboration between the manufacturing sectors of both countries.
