The National Port System Administration Manzanillo maintains a permanent surveillance system for hazardous materials within the port area.
To this end, specialized drills and practices are carried out to strengthen response capacity and coordination in Mexico's main Pacific port. In this regard, training to react to contingencies related to hazardous materials is permanent. This is one of the most important activities within the port's operations. Specialized practices for the identification and containment of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) are constantly carried out, aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of personnel.
Trained personnel are available to react to risks in the port area, which increases the response capacity of the teams responsible for attending to emergencies within the facilities. These trainings combine theoretical and practical exercises aimed at addressing incidents related to hazardous substances, an increasingly sensitive component within the dynamics of logistics and foreign trade.
In this way, the action protocols of the personnel of the Port Emergency Coordination (CEP) are strengthened, an area responsible for coordinating immediate response actions in different emergency scenarios. This also ensures compliance with the Port Emergency Response Plan, which establishes specific guidelines for dealing with incidents that may compromise the safety of operations, infrastructure, or personnel involved in maritime and logistics activities.
The movement of goods and hazardous materials in ports makes it essential to have trained personnel and updated protocols, especially in an environment where security has become a strategic factor for the port's competitiveness.
