Huang Bo, Chairman of Guangzhou Port Group, led a delegation to Hong Kong to visit various port and shipping clients and partners. During the trip, discussions were held on topics such as deep synergy between ports and shipping companies, expansion of route networks, improvement of terminal operation quality, and intelligent and green development.
Zhu Tao, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cosco Shipping Ports, welcomed the delegation. Both parties jointly reviewed the production and operations in the first and second phases of the Nansha terminals in Guangzhou, engaging in an in-depth discussion on terminal operational management, work efficiency improvement, and digital transformation and upgrading.
The parties reached a consensus to fully leverage their respective advantages in resources and location, further deepen strategic cooperation, continuously enhance the core competitiveness of the terminals, and jointly provide high-quality and efficient port services to their clients.
Xu Song, Executive Director of China Merchants Port Group, also met with the delegation for a practical exchange focused on deepening synergy in terminal operations, sharing experiences in overseas terminal project management, and analyzing and evaluating new situations and challenges in the port and shipping market.
The group unanimously agreed to strengthen joint work and experience sharing, joining forces to respond to industry changes and expand new spaces for synergistic development.
Tao Weidong, Executive Director of Orient Overseas (International) Limited (OOCL), exchanged views on key topics such as the expansion of cold chain logistics business, the construction and cooperation in ship-to-ship and ship-to-rail intermodal corridors, the optimization of regular container ship route distribution, and support for foreign trade enterprises in their international expansion.
Broad consensuses were reached on strengthening the service capacity of routes in the Nansha port area, creating intermodal logistics networks, and expanding the scope of cooperation for special cargo types.
Chen Shande, Director and Deputy General Manager of Wan Hai Lines (Hong Kong) Limited, held a working meeting with Huang Bo's delegation. Both parties discussed the update in transportation capacity distribution, the densification and optimization of routes, and supply chain coordination, expressing a shared desire to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation to jointly promote shipping development in the Greater Bay Area.
During his stay in Hong Kong, Sun Bangcheng, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port, also led a delegation to visit Ocean Network Express (ONE), where he held a dialogue with Li Shengyang, President of ONE for Hong Kong and the South China region.
This round of visits constitutes a practical outcome in the implementation of Guangzhou Port Group's 'hub+corridor+network' strategy and in deepening synergistic integration in the port and shipping industry chain. Furthermore, it further consolidates the foundations of cooperation with its key partners in the Hong Kong region.
