As part of the comprehensive rehabilitation work of the Fishermen's Market and Fishermen's Dock, the National Port System Administration of Manzanillo (ASIPONA) has begun this week the placement of piles for the reconstruction of the Fishermen's Dock, adjacent to the building.
The work is being carried out in coordination with the Manzanillo City Council and the State Government.
According to the information, the work includes partial demolitions, structural reinforcement, plastering, finishes, floor laying, aluminum and glass work, carpentry, as well as the installation of sanitary and electrical systems.
In this context, among the actions to be executed is the rehabilitation of the dock, which showed serious deterioration, so 44 piles were placed to reinforce the structure and strengthen it for the service of the important productive sector of the port.
The regional delegate of the University of Colima, Ana María Gallardo, accompanied by high school and university students from that institution, attended the start of these works. Also present were the rector of the Technological University of Manzanillo (UTEM), Guillermo Torres López, accompanied by students from primary schools in the center of Manzanillo, as well as the general director of ASIPONA Manzanillo, Admiral José Ignacio Moreno Díaz.
The work includes materials, waste, labor, tools, equipment, and crimp connectors for joining main steel rods.
For ASIPONA, this project is part of the actions being carried out to strengthen the Port-City relationship, through works that contribute to the well-being of the population and the recovery of public spaces in Manzanillo.
